The whole idea of blogging

The ideas is to develop critical thinking; yes, participating in this course does make me think critically. EDU 3217 is really different from the typical bloggers. we do not share what is our grandmother experienced and stuff like that. =) my clique and i are ask to view the agenda form different perspectives.

That is what i have done and in some ways, it make me become more mature in thinking. Maybe i will continue blogging. For a person that not online 24-7, its a tedious work to do. For me , i like to share it during talking with my friends (who said that guys always 'sembang kosong?') Well if i feel like blogging i will do it. After all i already have one account and special thanks to Dr.Edwin because make my cliques and i follow the current trends. Now we are not like frog under the coconut shell! that is one thing for sure!

The beginning of the end

Yay!! The end of micro teaching. Mind you guys that i and my cliques have three micro teachings. It`s a tired work but learning experienced for all of us.

For this course, i have read my peer evaluations. Sad but true...most of them wrote same things--problems at grammar. Sigh...it is ironic for an English teacher to have such problem. Well it is the beginning for the end, the journey just started. Now that i know my problem, i can focus in improving my grammar!

I also admired my friends that can come up with creative ideas to deliver their learning. (well, for sure i`ll take that ideas and adapt in my micro teaching next year!)

It is a satisfaction if you can see that your students get what you have teach for that day. Its like giving them a light to show to the right track. Its feels like an angel (duh!) Well that is teaching all about...

After the introduction

--continue from the set-induction--

The 2nd stage in micro teaching. The term is while-reading. At this stage, the teacher will deliver the input from his/her teaching materials. Frankly it was not an easy task, even though my students is my peer, but i still can`t deliver my input well enough. It`s not like i am nervous or stage fright, i just can`t see the flow of my teaching. There is a moment when i feel like i am talking to the wall because students did not response to my answer. Damn! i don`t know where i go wrong but yet i`m still learning. Maybe i am not really well prepared. I don`t know.

The 3rd stage id the enforcement. The term is post reading. At this stage the teacher only have to distribute the task and discuss the answer. Nothing much that can be explain at this stage because mostly at this stage, students will take part in the discussion. (students-centered)

The last stage--closure. At this stage, teacher will recaps the topic of the day.Simple and easy. Well who says teaching is easy? Guess again because there is so much things to consider. It is hard work but a noble one--if you are in the right track though!

Express feelings through the paper

By: Ahmad Mokhlis b Inngam (144509)

Kee Thuan Chye - the famous Malaysian writer. Inspires me - yes, follow his footsteps - big NO. it is not like i don`t have the capability to be a writer. Everyone have the talents. What is stopping me to be like Kee Thuan Chye is the guts that he has that i don`t have.

Even though he said that he did not knows the reason of his existence in this world, yet he knows what he wants. He is very firm with his decisions.

Person like Kee Thuan Chye has a different perspective and agenda and he express it through the papers. Its looks meaningless but it actually open people eyes! Sincerely i can`t be like him but still i`ll will follow his agenda to open people eyes to see the reality of the new world. Perhaps i can inject the idea through the younger generation maybe. Who know?

The first step in everything

By: Ahmad Mokhlis B Inngam

Every single things must start with introduction. Do you agree? Simple example: someone come into your house without knocking or greet to you? What do you feels? Confuse? Angry? Indeed. Same as teaching, it must start with with introduction.

The term is set-induction. Set-induction is crucial to trigger students` schemata (students` previous knowledge). As i said before, if not the students will be confuse and think what the hell is the teacher doing in front of the class?! Actually that is what i feel because it is not easy to grab students attention.

Everything must be a failure. That is my failure in the set-induction and it make me look like a clown in front of the class. sigh.. however we learn from the mistakes and try to be better for the next session. Set-induction is the starting point for teaching. If i ave already screw up from the beginning, the teaching is meaningless.. I try to be better!

Twisted fate…

By: Ahmad Mokhlis B Inngam 144509

Do you still remember my blog entitled Teiresias, the blind prophet? He is one of the characters in the play ‘Oedipus Rex’. Well this time I want to blog about the story.

The story starts when Teirisias tells about the oracle to Oedipus. The content of the Oracles are; 1) a son will kill his father, 2) then he will marry his mother 3) he is the reason the plague starts. Who would have thought about this story could happened. Most of us know, a man marry his mother, when this incident happens, it will cause uproar. Well, it sure causes uproar as it disturbs the life of Oedipus, and causes his wife (mother) to commit suicide.
And his attempts to reveal the past make his life miserable because he is the culprit. Yet I pity Oedipus because his intention is to stop the plague but he is the tragedy.

The story make me think, will my future affect because what have I done during the past? In Buddhism and Hinduism, they believe in incarnation, which means they will have second chance. However, they must be good to incarnate in better form. If not they will incarnate into useless things such as cockroach. But in my beliefs, the next life will be after the judgment day, the day the God will count our deeds, then whether to heaven or hell.

Looking from other perspective, reading this story make me want to be a better person and trying to avoid be a bad person. However, what if fate is stronger than will? Will I be like Oedipus? Will my life become a tragedy? Who knows what will happens in future…

Being a writer?

By: Ahmad Mokhlis B Inngam 144509

Me as a writer? Puff, a funny joke. But I come up with two stories. (the first one rejected by Dr.Edwin, sigh). Writing one act play requires me to think critically and creatively.

Why? It is because of three reasons. First of all, you idea must be original. It is crucial because you don’t want to be called as copycat. Second, is the content of the one act play. It must suits the focus of your readers (in my case is upper secondary students), then it must have appropriate stage director and lastly, it must achieve the director standards (in my case is Dr.Edwin, I don’t want to be rejected twice)

During the process of writing, I can feels I am the characters and see from their points of views. Nice right. You can read my work shortly after I get my approval from my director 
